Seeing the Guys

...another trip to Oklahoma. This time was pretty low key. We had a garage sale at my mom's, but still managed 2, yes I said 2, date nights. It was amazing. On a side note, if you haven't tried Cheevers in OKC you are crazy! It is amazing.

Anyways, we had a great time. We finally had the chance to make it out to my brother's this weekend. It's hard for all of our schedules to line up, but by the grace of God they did this weekend. I've said it before, Kate LOVES her cousins. The really cool thing is they love her too. Kason is getting old enough to really not be too invested in playing with the little ones, but even he was so sweet with her. The cutest thing was how good Kate and Krece played. He was so stinking cute. He was so excited to show Kate how to ride a horse. He would yell, "Baby Kate, watch!" the entire time he was in the ring. Later while feeding the cows he talked to her about what his daddy was doing to feed the cows and demonstrated how to call coyotes. Who doesn't need to know that?

Well, they guys were not the only ones Kate adored. Her Uncle Jason was amazing while trying to get her comfortable on his horse. It made me love my brother even more to see how sweet he was to my daughter. Aunt Kaci isn't too shabby either. Kate decided that when she was upset she needed her Aunt Kaci to comfort her. Kate got upset while on Uncle Jason's horse. She wasn't trying to get off, but she was crying...that's a no go for Papa. He took her off the horse and then Kaci calmed her down. Later, Michael asked her if she was scared while on the horse. She said, "No daddy." Michael asked what was wrong. Kate said, "Horses sad. Uncle Jason and Krece hurting horses." She thought she was hurting the horses by sitting on them. We tell her all the time not to ride the puppies because it will hurt them. I guess she thinks horses are just big puppies. We are going to have to work on that if she is going to be the Masked Rider!

We came back to Lubbock on Monday with sad faces. We know we are where we are supposed to be, and are thankful for the life we have made for ourselves here. However, it's always hard to leave Oklahoma. It will always be home.

Kason is more into the ranger than riding horses, but made sure Krece knew Biscuit was his horse.

Krece was riding Biscuit all over the arena. Pretty good for a 4 year old.

Kate tried to walk exactly like Kason all the way to the arena. Look how big he is getting!






This is Kason's attempt at carrying Kate. She insisted he carry her to the truck. He carried her like a sack of potatoes and it was hilarious!
