Kate's Last "Only" Weekend

...realizing this past weekend would be Kate's last weekend as an only child. We decided to make it count and focus on family fun. It started on Wednesday of last week with a field trip her school took to a farm owned by a family in the school. it was so gracious of them to ask every out. Once we got there, however, Kate realized that her definition of farm is far different than what she saw. They did have a hay ride, which she loved...me not so much since I'm more than pregnant...and they had a pony and 2 horses. That's about all they had. Kate is more used to Uncle Jason's house where there are several horses, and more importantly, lots of cows. She is also used to Papa Ron's house with even more cows and a pig (although I continue to argue that Porky is in fact a ferrel hog). Regardless, we had fun. Below is a picture of us on the hay ride, which I highly DO NOT recommend for the 8.5 month pregnant crowd.



On Saturday we decided we wanted to be with our dearest friends here (whom we had dinner with the night before too!) so we showed up to Sydney's t-ball game. If you haven't been to a t-ball game lately, you are missing a great time. It is so fun to watch Sydney watch us to make sure we are paying attention. Kate loves to cheer for Sydney. Of course, Kate thinks a tutu is proper attire for a ballgame, and really for everything else for that matter. She now wants a tutu on her body by 7:45 am everyday.



She really gets in to cheering for Sydney!



We also went to the movies and had dinner with some more friends on Sunday. As the day ended I caught Michael and Kate having a super sweet moment on the couch reading/singing her Bible. She LOVES to hear about Jesus and sing songs about him. Before you think she is so sweet and innocent, keep in mind her other favorite songs are Day Tripper and Yellow Submarine by the Beatles. That being said, she really is learning so much about the Bible and God. It's so neat to have that time together as a family to tell the stories and teach her the songs. I just love that time with her. I hope Jude just joins right in!
