Kate's Surgery: Update #3

...a rough night. After being relatively pleasant all day yesterday Kate had a relatively rough evening and night. Keep in mind that it is Kate we are talking about so she was a complete rock star the entire time. She began to hurt and since the codeine was not working they gave her some morphine which seemed to help. She slept most of the night, only waking to cough or have her vitals taken. She got a breathing treatment too which seemed to help.
This morning the doctor came in and said that we may get to go home today! Hooray! They removed her foley catheter and disconnected her IV (but left it in just in case). We gave her a bath and even left the room for a walk down the hall. She is resting right now. If she can eat and drink some today we will most likely go home late this afternoon.
It is truly amazing how well she has done. This was a much bigger surgery than Michael or I thought but she has amazed us with her strength and patience through all of it. We will keep everyone posted. Thank you all for your prayers.
