Take Me Out to the Ballgame

...our 8 year old nephew's post-season baseball tournament. Today was the final day, and they started the morning in the loser's bracket. But the guys played hard and kept fighting their way through the tournament. We were at the Hinton (Oklahoma) ballfields at 9 am this morning for the first game. He won the first game and had to turn around and play at 10:15...then again at 11:30...then again at 1:00...then again at 2:30...all the way to the Championhip game. Did I mention today was the 2nd hottest June 27th on record in Oklahoma (103 degrees)??? Unfortunately they lost the final game 18-19. Kason, our nephew, is one heck of a baseball player. Of course, I've been telling everyone how good he is since he was 3 years old playing in the backyard. He's got an arm and is good with the bat. He hit 5 home-runs today, and unlike the big hitters in the major leagues, Kason never struck out. It was great to get to see him play in a game, but I know he's bummed that baseball season is now over for the summer. Sorry Kason!

Kate had a great time today watching her cousin play baseball. We had to leave early today to get her out of the heat, but she got to see the first three games. We barely left the parking lot and she was out like a light.
