Jude's Baptism

...Jude's baptism. We would have had his baptism sometime between November-February, but with the move and getting connected to a new church, we were just happy to have celebrated his baptism before his 1st birthday. When we met with the pastor to discuss the baptism he asked us why we were choosing to have an infant baptism. He wanted to make sure we knew that the Methodist church didn't require it. When we told him we didn't grow up in the Methodist church we really confused him. Infant baptism is about our declaration that we will raise our children to know and love God. It is about asking our church to join with us in raising our children in this way. We prayed hard to have these children, and this is our way of dedicating them back to God.

I mean, look how cute these two kids are. Our princess and our little super hero--their pj's are very fitting of their personalities. If Kate could turn the whole world pink and purple she would, and if we would let Jude leap from tall buildings he would.

Jude is so attached to his mommy that we were worried how the part when the pastor took him to do the baptism would go. But, Jude did great and never even whimpered.

Here is the pastor leading the church in the responsive reading.

How great is this picture? I love this little guy. We are so lucky to have him in our lives.

His Granny made him a special cake. We learned something else about Jude this weekend too...he loves cake. It was a great celebration of our little boy, and we are so thankful all our parents came to spend it with us.
